Happy Blog Day Everyone!
Of course we're in between two chapter posts following chapter 4 last week, and I'm afraid you know what that means!
Still, I do have some good news as I've finally made progress on the new Brennan and Riz short! Then...I immediately hit a problem...
The problem is that after my initial idea fell apart (that of a supposedly cursed mirror in the town of Billingham) due to me not being able to find the reference material anymore (note to self, from now on, save everything somewhere!), I decided to pivot to something interesting I found in my attempted research, the Spook Woods of Stockton-on-Tees. So, inspired, I quickly started work only to hit the first snag, that I got the wrong address for where the woods were. See, I was under the mistaken belief that they were right next door to the Elmwood centre (a place with its own supernatural history), so I cheerfully went ahead and wrote a section where our dynamic duo drove to the place in Hartburn, had to park in the street to avoid suspicion, and meet the client. Turns out I had the completely wrong stretch of road. The one that I should have been looking for wasn't even in Hartburn, but a small ways away, a long road that leads out of Stockton, going to small villages. This meant I pretty much had to rewrite all that I had written as I'd been relying on the fact that they were so close to unsuspecting civilians. So, I went and did that, only to run into my next problem. I didn't actually know the specific point where Spook Woods was on that road. All my sleuthing hadn't turned up a point I could see, instead of acting like it was well known so no explanation was needed.
After a long and grueling ten minute ponder, I decided to live like Riz, and just wing it! Will it come together at the end? We'll just have to see!
I've also been working away on Avalon Tales Chapter 10, and I'd say I'm close to half way through it, so I'm still on track with my chapter lead.
Now, though, let's see what Brennan and Riz is up to!
The Comic Tales of Brennan and Riz
Don't see how they're going to settle this choice! Though personally, I wouldn't upset the being that could literally step on me, abd everything in a large radius. Maybe we'll check in with these guys in the future to see how they get on.
