#165 Has To Be Done

Happy Blog Day Everyone!

I debated with myself if I should move Avalon Tales to a weekly schedule (on account of actually being some ways ahead, a rarity!) but, I've decided to stick to fortnightly for now, lest I catch up to myself and stress out. I mean, that'll probably happen anyway, but, what you going to do?

In other news, I've been writing a fair bit at the moment, mostly Avalon Tales of course, but it still counts. In the process of doing this though, I had to actually sit down and work out some details, mainly character ages. See, really, in totality, Avalon Tales covers four periods of Isabelle’s life, starting when she was 10 years old in last weeks prologue. Then from next weeks chapter onwards, that'll flash forward a full fourteen years (I feel like I've linked to it a lot recently, but there is a short story set in the midst of that skip). Each Novella after that would then skip three years till a final jump of three years between the final Novella and Daemon Soul 2. This is where the choice to add a year in between the two Daemon Soul stories came to haunt me. See, it's not so much that the Avalon Characters are a year older, but that gap suddenly means that they're twiddling their thumbs because I wanted a Christmas story.

Yeah, I haven't sorted that out yet because I'm generally unsure of what to do. Narratively speaking, Avalon will not be biding time...Every time I think I've made a choice to make matters easier, I've only gone and made it more complicated! Of course, I can just switch the plot over to Avalon but it may hew too close to what's going to happen in the second Novella anyway...Why do I do this to myself?

Still, on the positive, all the main players now have their ages (and rough birthday months) jotted down, and this even trickles down to an important Daemon Soul character, who that is? You'll find out in a couple of weeks!

Also planning to getting a couple more drawings done for next week. If possible I'd like to do headshots for important characters as they're introduced, time permitting.

Enough waffling there, let's check in with our favourite duo shall we?

The Comic Tales of Brennan and Riz

Judging by that last panel, I don't think Brennan went far enough. He better start thinking of a new place, maybe one in a warmer climate, or maybe, he just needs a cat.

I realise now that this strip is very similar to this strip, just with the characters reversed, a good thing, or a bad thing? I'll let you decide.

Okay, somehow I talked for a lot longer than I normally do on these in-between posts, will that become a trend? We'll see...

Till next time...

Keep on writing!
