Happy Blog Day Everyone!
This week I want to look at what the future holds for Daemon Soul now that it's been released, there's also a brand new Comic Tales of Brennan and Riz to entertain you, so let's head over and see what the pair are up to.
The Comic Tales of Brennan and Riz
Looks like a pretty good dream Riz was having there! Also one I could actually show you without the authorities trying to get in contact. This issue came out a lot better than I was dreading, though I need to find a better way to take the final photo. The reason the panel lines look so wonky is because of the angle I take the photo at. If only I had a scanner.
Future of Daemon Soul
So hopefully everyone is reading/ has read Daemon Soul Awakening by now (get it here and here if you haven't!), and may be thinking to themselves, now what?
Well...now you wait.
Okay, that sounds harsh but you wait because book 2 is (hopefully) on the way!
Of course, this is a completely redone book 2 then the original sequel I wrote from 2007 to 2008, my life might have been easier if I had just edited that one (which probably wouldn't have worked thinking about it, as even Awakening got redrafted basically).
My original plan was to have five books (Awakening, Requiem, Corruption, Dead World, Curse of Destiny) which quickly got cut back to four (the last one was dropped, with book 4 gaining a little extra to end the whole thing). Essentially each book was to focus on one of the four Arc Demons, treating each like the final boss of a video game (though as it turned out when writing the books, each successive one got better characterisation with one in particular affecting the future rewrites even now). Of course Gabriel featured heavily through out all this, his role changing in the early planning of Requiem (he was supposed to die then, if you can believe that!) with a major reveal happening in Corruption. No, I will not say what that reveal was, I'm still planning on using that.
Now, I've drafted a new plan with regards to how Daemon Soul will move forward, and Daemon Soul Avalon is a big part of that. This represents something that was missing from the first version of the sequels, Cypher’s steps into the world having consequences as others react to him. This is also where he meets the white haired woman, whom I shared a picture of last week. That woman is, of course, Isabelle Blake, who regular readers will remember from a few short stories I've written on the blog (ones you can read via the list I shared last week).
Want another picture of her?
That's all for this week!
Till next time...
Keep on writing!
